Description

• Support corporate governance activities.
• Identify and advise on legal and business risk associated with business opportunities, including compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Assist with environmental, health and safety matters.
• Support litigation and compliance matters.
• Provide legal advice for the company’s business units, providing practical, commercial advice on day-to-day matters and advising business leadership on multifaceted issues, including commercial matters, dispute resolution and regulatory compliance
• Provide training to purchasing, sales, proposal and project management teams on a variety of legal topics.
• Provide overall legal advice relating to contracts (including negotiating and guidance on corporate policy matters), supplier negotiations, customer negotiations, strategies, supplier and customer disputes and contract risk mitigation.
• Draft and negotiate commercial contracts with customers, suppliers and service providers.
• Draft and negotiate confidentiality agreements.

Requirements

• Demonstrates analytical abilities, including problem solving and decision making.
• Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school required.
• Qualified candidates will be licensed to practice law in Ohio or will be licensed in another state and will qualify for corporate counsel registration in Ohio within twelve months.
• Ability to work independently, self-starter, and motivator
• 3-5 years’ experience in a law firm or in-house legal department with experience reviewing, revising and negotiating contracts. Litigation or litigation management experience is beneficial but not required.
• Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and EHS data management software
• Strong data analysis skills; proven ability to trend large amounts of data
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Process minded, systems thinker
• Demonstrate maturity to exercise independent judgment on projects and assignments.
