The Estimator Associate works in the estimating department to develop internal estimates by performing detailed take‑offs that calculate required materials, labor, and equipment for each project.
- Participate in Estimate Plan meetings and support the pre‑construction team.
- Review blueprints, specifications, and documents to understand project scope.
- Communicate missing information to the estimate lead to ensure a complete estimate.
- Collaborate with client bid forms and coordinate with marketing for proposal inclusion.
- Assess RFP requirements for compliance and notify the estimate lead of any deviations.
- Ensure estimates meet industry standards, NEC, local regulations, and job‑specific criteria.
- Develop and manage the subcontractor/vendor bid list.
- Organize and lead pre‑bid meetings as needed.
- Receive quotes, analyze subcontractor and vendor proposals, and recommend selections.
- Submit project budgets with thorough estimate, scope, and specification reviews.
- Maintain preferred subcontractor records, bid forms, packages, and estimating databases.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve organizational goals and solve problems.
- Retrieve technical information from various sources effectively.
- Use estimating software such as Beck Destini, Accubid, Bluebeam, or InSite.
- Communicate effectively with internal clients, external clients, and subcontractors.

The role requires ordinary ambulatory abilities, the capacity to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and lift or carry light to medium loads (10‑50 lb), as well as good hand‑eye coordination and visual acuity for using keyboards and reading documentation.
- Hold a high school diploma or GED and at least 5 years of industrial electrical experience.
- Demonstrate strong organizational, verbal communication, and attention‑to‑detail skills.
- Possess knowledge of construction methods, material systems, market conditions, and trade practices.
- Maintain proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and other computer applications.
