

WSP provides engineering, design, and consulting services across diverse sectors worldwide.
The specialist will develop photorealistic 3D models, still renderings, cinematic animations, and photo simulations to support project planning, design, and delivery. They will consult on, develop, and clarify complex, controversial, and difficult‑to‑describe projects, and support public engagement and proposal efforts through compelling visual storytelling. Continuous professional development is expected to stay current with visualization technology and new communication tools, while self‑managing tasks within defined scope, schedule, and budget.
WSP is currently initiating a search for a Design Visualization Specialist for our Denver, Seattle, Portland, Dallas or Tampa office. This role involves professional services projects with our Visualization & Data Intelligence (VDI) national practice, as part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and brings creative visual solutions to complex engineering challenges. VDI is an in-house visual communications creative team, supporting future‑focused projects that are shaping communities. Required qualifications include at least one year of experience in 3D visualization, VFX, digital media, architecture, engineering, or a related field, and a bachelor’s degree in art, multimedia, cinematography, engineering, architecture, or a related discipline. Candidates must demonstrate high proficiency in Autodesk 3ds Max, V‑Ray, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects), along with familiarity with UE5 and/or Twinmotion, and the ability to read engineering design plans and BIM/3D specifications. Knowledge of CADD applications such as AutoCAD, Revit, and MicroStation, as well as an understanding of lighting, color, perspective, and ethical decision‑making, is also required.
Preferred qualifications include proficiency with Autodesk InfraWorks, experience in 3D printing, shader development, scripting, and the ability to convey ideas through storyboards, sketches, and simple narratives. Experience with Section 508 accessibility compliance is also valued.

The expected salary range for this position across all locations is $76,000 – $92,000, with final compensation based on education, experience, skills, internal equity, and geographic location. WSP reserves the right to adjust the offer as needed, in compliance with applicable laws.
