Generation Interconnection Sr Manager

Description

• Coordinate across engineering, legal, finance, and commercial teams to achieve project milestones, secure required senior management approvals, and ensure strong leadership, financial oversight, and project scheduling discipline.
• Lead and provide strategic direction for the interconnection and energization of Constellation’s new megawatts in competitive wholesale markets. Drive alignment with corporate growth objectives and market positioning.
• Maintain collaborative relationships between Constellation, RTOs and ISOs, and transmission owners to lead the generation interconnection process, including submission into interconnection queues and management of the study process.
• Oversee large scale projects through all phases of the project lifecycle, including establishing and maintaining robust controls across project design and execution.
• Serve as an effective and influential external representative of Constellation to RTOs and ISOs, transmission owners, regulators, business partners, vendors, and other stakeholders, including providing guidance on interconnection rules, rule changes, and opportunities for expedited interconnection.
• Drive operational readiness by aligning engineering, construction, and procurement activities to deliver on time commercial operations following execution of interconnection agreements, while ensuring achievement of development milestones, acquisition of required licenses and permits, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements

• Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements and industry standards relevant to the energy industry
• Experience in system planning activities
• Master of Business Administration (MBA)
• Proficient knowledge of RTO/ISO rules regarding interconnection processes
• Proven leadership, credibility, interpersonal and team management skills
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Science, or related field
• Demonstrated expertise in Eastern Interconnection transmission and interconnection matters
• Proven ability to effectively communicate complex recommendations to a variety of audiences, including senior management
• Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• 10 years of relevant professional experience including 4 years in the energy or utility industry
• Experience managing large scale projects
• Demonstrated oral and written communication skills with a strong focus on relationship building and attention to detail
• Strong problem solving skills with the ability to deliver practical solutions through collaboration
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with peers and key stakeholders, both internal and external
• Experience supporting engineering and procurement functions
