• Provide heavy support for office CAD/Civil3D tasks and perform field data collection, reporting to the VP of Engineering.

Requirements

The Survey Engineer role reports to the VP of Engineering and requires at least five years of construction staking experience with buildings, structures, robotics, and GPS equipment, specifically in California. The position provides heavy support for office CAD and Civil3D work while also performing field data collection as needed. A California Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license is mandatory.

Candidates must be proficient in AutoCAD, Civil3D, Carlson, Leica, and Trimble 1‑man robotic surveying equipment, and possess solid math skills, a team‑player attitude, and a desire to mentor others. Preferred qualifications include three years of journey‑level experience leading survey projects, expertise in MS Office and various drafting packages, and extensive work with digital terrain models, GPS collection, least‑square adjustments, and boundary surveys.

• Minimum 5 years experience in construction staking and survey‑mapping, including California field work.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Civil3D, Carlson, Leica, and Trimble 1‑man robotic surveying equipment.
• Skilled in boundary, topographic, and digital terrain model (DTM) surveys; strong math abilities.
• Hold a California Professional Land Surveyor license and a valid CA driver’s license.
• Demonstrated team‑player attitude with a willingness to mentor others.
• Preferred: three‑plus years leading survey projects, expertise in MS Office, various drafting packages, and least‑square adjustment processing.
