As the Labor Program Manager, you will develop and manage the Recommended Labor dashboard, act as the authority for labor hour recommendations, and oversee the lifecycle of labor tools. You will collaborate with Service Events & Insights, product groups, and dealers to ensure accurate labor data and drive continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain Caterpillar Recommended Labor and Rebuild labor data in collaboration with Service Events & Insights.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in labor hour analytics.
- Lead projects defining rebuild programs and associated labor requirements.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, peers, and dealer personnel.
- Evaluate processes and implement lean improvements.
- Drive process enhancements for labor development tools, including automation of labor time study data.
- Coordinate with Product Groups to ensure accurate labor time study forecasts.
- Serve as an internal and external labor subject matter expert.
- Continuously expand knowledge of Caterpillar’s product line.
- Technical consulting: provide technical or business guidance to internal and external clients.
- Customer focus: align decisions with customer needs and create customized solutions.
- Strategic thinking: apply big‑picture planning to identify key success factors.

Basic requirements include technical consulting skills, effective communication, a strong customer focus, and strategic thinking. Candidates should be able to provide guidance to internal and external clients, convey information clearly, align decisions with customer needs, and apply big‑picture planning to identify key success factors.

- Effective communications: transmit, receive, and interpret ideas and information accurately.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Knowledge of Cat machines and engines (powertrain, hydraulic, electrical, cooling, fuel, brake, steering).
- Understanding of machine components such as engine, transmission, torque converter, driveline, axle, differential, final drive.
- Understanding of Caterpillar machine and engine parts product structure.
- Good understanding of Reuse & Salvage Guidelines.
- Experience leveraging Service Magazine Articles, Special Instructions, PIPs, PSPs.
- Experience with dealer service data, SMCS codes, and standard jobs.
- Experience reading and interpreting Caterpillar engineering prints.
- Experience with SIS, RWA, EDS, NPR, HVC.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.

- Dealer quoting methodology.
- Knowledge of Caterpillar Upgrades & Retrofits and marketing with Cat Certified Rebuilds.
