As a Commercial Refrigeration Technician you will install, maintain, and repair commercial refrigeration systems, handling routine service, warranty work, and emergency repairs under the guidance of the Area Service Manager. You will prioritize safety, customer satisfaction, and client comfort while upholding Nextech’s values of quality service and integrity.
- Provide top-level customer service, technical expertise, and quality workmanship.
- Install, maintain, and repair standard commercial refrigeration units such as reach‑in coolers, freezers, beverage dispensers, walk‑in units, and rack units.
- Diagnose and repair electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of refrigeration systems.
- Travel to assigned sites, coordinate schedules with dispatch, and communicate delays to customers.
- Work nights and weekends on a rotating schedule to address emergency service needs.
- Maintain the company vehicle clean and organized, performing weekly washes.
- Stock, organize, and document proper inventory of parts, tools, and safety equipment.
- Record service details and parts provided electronically via company‑provided devices.
- Obtain replacement parts, calibrate systems per manufacturer specifications, and clearly explain issues and solutions to clients.
- Participate in company‑provided training and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Identify and report potential additional business opportunities to management.
- Follow EPA regulations for handling and disposing of refrigerants.
- Travel to client sites and consistently deliver high levels of customer service.
- Operate iPad, cell phone, computer, and other office/work‑related equipment.
- Travel daily as needed and climb regularly when required.

- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication with strong interpersonal skills.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Read schematics, work plans, and operate diagnostic tools, refrigerant recovery equipment, and specialized instruments proficiently.
- Exhibit strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Understand advanced air‑conditioning, heating, and refrigeration principles.
- Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Use basic computer skills for documentation on iPads or cell phones.
- Be willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Hold specific industry certification/license, including EPA certification.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Bring at least 2 years of recent HVAC/R technician experience.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Continuously require vision, hearing, twisting, and talking abilities.
- Able to stand, sit, walk, lift, carry, reach, kneel, push/pull, bend, crouch, and climb regularly.
- Stand for extended periods and lift up to 100 lb.
