Description

Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Appliance Removal Driver leads the daily appliance pickup process using a 26‑foot box truck equipped with a lift gate. The driver responds to pre‑scheduled appointments, collects appliances for recycling, and ensures high‑quality customer interaction throughout each job.

In this role, the driver supervises a small crew to remove appliances safely, following appointment schedules and ensuring customer satisfaction. Typical tasks involve operating the truck, recording activities on handheld devices, working with program leaders to suggest process improvements, and upholding safety and professional standards.

• Lead a two‑person crew to safely remove appliances, including travel and customer interaction.
• Operate a 26‑foot box truck with lift gate and air brakes for scheduled pickups.
• Meet daily, weekly, and monthly key performance indicators.
• Maintain a professional appearance and represent the program positively.
• Use mobile or handheld devices to track and report pickups and deliveries.
• Collaborate with team leadership to identify and recommend improvements.
• Load and unload appliances, handling equipment such as shoulder straps and dollies.
• Exercise sound judgment and uphold safety standards at all times.
• Lead, motivate, and build rapport with customers and team members.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a valid chauffeur’s license, have a clean driving record, and bring 2–3 years of experience driving large box trucks. Strong communication and customer‑service skills, the ability to lift heavy loads, and a flexible schedule are essential, as is passing a DOT physical, background check, and drug screening. Preferred experience includes prior furniture or appliance delivery and familiarity with customer‑management systems.

• Lift and maneuver loads of 100 lb or more safely.
• Hold a valid chauffeur’s license with a clean driving record.
• Possess 2–3 years’ experience driving 26‑foot box trucks.
• Demonstrate excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical individuals.
• Pass criminal background check, drug screening, and DOT physical.
• Thrive in a fast‑paced environment, meeting deadlines and solving problems in the field.
• Have experience with customer management systems or databases (preferred).
• Have at least one year of furniture/appliance delivery experience (preferred).
• Have 2–3 years of customer service experience (preferred).
