Tasks

-Perform new track construction or maintenance tasks associated with railroad tracks -Communicate with team and supervisor throughout the job process -Practice safe working habits and ensure proper PPE is being used -Operate heavy or specialized equipment, including but not limited to skid steer, plugger, spike puller, bolt machine, compactor/ roller -Interfaces with all levels of employees, management, and external customers.

What You Bring

-Able to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch -Safety conscious with high regard to other employees working with and near equipment -Experience working outdoors (preferably in construction) -Able to walk, climb, and maintain balance on equipment, stairs, ladders, uneven terrain, rails and ballast in a safe manner -Will require being away from home for extended periods. -Requires occasional use of 30 lb claw bar to remove spikes, requiring application of 50 lbs of force -Extensive travel and requirement to stay at project sites for the duration of project. Must carry out responsibilities in a fast-paced, outside construction environment -Mobility to participate in frequent travel to and from project location -Must be at least 18 years of age -Able to perform physical strenuous work -Be comfortable working outside in all weather conditions -Able to navigate into confined spaces if necessary -Requires occasional use of 10 lb sledgehammer to drive spikes, requiring application of 75 lbs of force -Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs -Performs duties in multiple environments including outside construction project settings, in and around moving vehicles and equipment. Exposure to weather elements; must wear appropriate PPE required for the project site.
