  • Provides administrative direction to assure that Plans are managed effectively, prudently, and in full compliance with the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA) and all other applicable laws and regulations.
  • Provides oversight to the Company’s Pension Plans to ensure that sufficient assets are available to pay benefits, when they are due , at the appropriate balance between cost and risk to the corporation. In accomplishing the above, the incumbent must work with selected consultants and advisors to: 1) establish appropriate long-term investment objectives and, on a current basis, establish and supervise the implementation of an investment strategy to achieve those objectives consistent with the corporation's then circumstances; 2) make recommendations regarding the allocation of assets among various investment alternatives such as stocks, bonds, real estate, or cash equivalents; 3) develop and manage the communication of sound and consistent investment policy guidelines for selected investment managers to pursue in order to achieve overall Plan objectives; 4) manage the process for selecting, directing, and monitoring qualified investment managers necessary to achieve overall Plan objectives; and 5) manage all day to day administrative responsibilities for the administration of the pension plans.
  • Complies with all policies and standards
  • Work with the Company's advisors to provide direction to the Employee Benefit Plan Board (EBPB) or senior management so that it may make decisions which will ensure that the Company can meet its financial obligations to retirees and other third party beneficiaries consistent with maintaining a relatively stable funded status of the pension plans on the various regulatory and financial measures. This includes the following: 1) evaluate the impact of pension liabilities and costs on the financial condition of the company within the guidelines of sound actuarial funding principles; 2) assist in establishing goals for funding policy; 3) develop and monitor standards to measure funding progress in achieving such goals; and 4) recommend an appropriate course of action to the Company or the EBPB, as necessary.
  • Work with consultants to diligence, monitor and make recommendations regarding the investment options for the Company sponsored Savings Plans. Provide oversight and serve as the primary contact with Trustee and Recordkeeper in the management of Company sponsored Savings Plans.
  • Work with consultants to develop and provide investment management expertise and oversight for post-retirement welfare trusts, commonly known as VEBA's and the PPL Foundation investments.

  • Strong financial acumen
  • 12 years of finance and treasury experience including experience in derivatives, risk mitigation strategies, and investing.
  • Team player who relates easily to all levels of management and has the stature and communication skills to be effective at all levels of the organization.
  • CPA, CTP or CFA certification.
  • Solid understanding of quantitative tools and techniques
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • 7+ years of finance and treasury experience
  • Experience in managing relationships with investment bankers and investment managers
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, accounting, or related area
  • Strong manager and leader who will have immediate credibility throughout the organization and with consultants, advisors, trustees, Board of Directors, and various other parties - both internal and external.
  • Experience overseeing risk exposure across investments.
