Join us as a Senior Protection & Control Design Engineer, where you'll lead innovative solutions for the UK's power networks. You'll create cutting-edge transmission protection designs while mentoring team members and ensuring excellence across all projects. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on design work, offering the opportunity to shape critical infrastructure projects across the UK's transmission and distribution network.

  • Create Red / Green MUP’s for cubicle build modifications
  • Provide technical input for Sales, Proposals and Operations departments
  • Provide detailed General Arrangements, Fabrication, Label schedules and Wiring Diagrams for our end customer.
  • Ensure all type registered Cubicle design solutions are kept up to date.
  • Complete Governance checks of work completed from our external design teams before issuing to build.
  • Provide a high level of customer service to clients and maintain the highest standards of quality.
  • Aid with Cubicle Build queries.

  • Ability to apply cubicle design skills to circuit diagrams
  • Excellent Auto CAD skills
  • Good understanding of design process covering Detailed design (Circuit diagrams / Cubicle Design / Cubicle Build/ Workshop Tested / Pre FAT & FAT).
  • Experience dealing with National Grid as direct customer and/or EPC customers providing Cubicle design solutions but not essential
  • Be able to lead multiple jobs to high standard.
  • A minimum qualification of HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering plus extensive experience in the Electricity Transmission and Distribution Industry.
  • Good communication skills to allow efficient co-ordination between the team / function groups and the customer.
  • Sound problem solving skills, fault finding skills and analytical thinking.
  • Be able to create mechanical Drawings when required for more bespoke solutions.
