Track and report safety violations, coordinate corrective actions, and verify closure with contractors.
The Safety Observer ensures site safety compliance by monitoring construction activities, conducting safety briefings, and supporting incident reporting. This role supplements the project team during critical phases requiring dedicated safety oversight.
Collaborate with the PM and SHEQ teams to investigate incidents and develop CAR/PARs.
Conduct site safety audits and facilitate safety orientations for all personnel and visitors.
Review contractor Health and Safety Plans (HASP) and support safety inspection processes.
Ensure compliance with daily safety briefings and escort requirements for site visitors.
Support emergency response and storm restoration activities as needed.
Ensure adherence to OSHA and Customer-specific safety protocols.

Excellent observation and communication skills; detail-oriented and proactive.
First Aid / AED certification
Valid Driver’s License
Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical T&D construction or maintenance.
Prior experience with switching/tagging procedures and construction compliance monitoring.
Background check clearance (per IUSA policy)
OSHA 30-hour certification
Knowledge of electric line work, substations, environmental regulations, and safety codes (NEC, NESC, OSHA).
