The role is responsible for assigned aspects of maintenance and operation of utility‑scale PV power plants. Duties include monitoring plant performance through SCADA, commissioning, testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying AC and DC solar PV components such as inverters, module arrays, transformers, switchgear, and metering systems.
The employee reports to the senior site manager or supervisor and may lead work groups or supervise plant evolutions, receiving tasks from advanced technical staff as needed. Travel is required according to company needs.

- Retrieve relay files and documentation.
- Manage multiple tasks and projects.
- Meet quarterly KPIs: energy generation, on‑time maintenance, equipment efficiency.

- Ensure personal safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
- Comply with Job Hazard Analysis, Pre‑Job Brief, and Lock‑Out‑Tag‑Out procedures.
- Perform preventive maintenance: measuring, testing, and maintaining site components.
- Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in planning and executing on‑site projects, installations, commissioning, inspections, and performance testing.
- Write and enforce work and equipment testing instructions and procedures.
- Complete work orders fully and submit required documentation and reports.
- Participate in and pass assigned safety and environmental training.
- Maintain work area and site housekeeping to 5S standards.
- Verify SCADA site configuration.
- Adhere to company vehicle and safety standards.
- Report to the most senior site manager or supervisor.

Candidates should have at least two years of experience in a related position or hold a Journey‑level certification. Preferred background includes operating and maintaining power‑plant electrical systems, SCADA and control systems, and performing preventive and corrective maintenance on advanced electrical components.
A high‑school diploma or equivalent is required, while a college or technical degree is preferred. Additional electrical certifications, state journeyman credentials, or equivalent training from the military, utility, or power industry are considered assets.
The position requires frequent bending, kneeling, twisting, climbing ladders, and the ability to lift up to 70 lb while wearing PPE for extended periods. Candidates must be able to work in varying temperatures, sun exposure, and uneven terrain, differentiate color‑coded wiring, and possess good hand‑eye coordination.
Applicants must demonstrate knowledge of electrical safety, arc‑flash standards, and local/national electrical codes, and be proficient in reading schematics and using CMMS for maintenance tracking. Strong safety practices such as Lockout‑Tag‑Out and Job Hazard Analysis, solid computer skills in a Windows environment, effective English communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks independently are essential. A valid driver’s license and the capacity to complete NovaSource’s Technician Qualification Standards within 90 days are also required.
