Project Engineer - Northfield, MN

Description

*EAD will provide training, administrative/engineering controls, and personal protective equipment as necessary.

• Participate in discipline-specific and company-wide business development efforts.
• Review and approve construction-related proposals, subcontractor invoices, and project-specific documents.
• Participate in evaluation of construction bids, recommend selections, and provide input on subcontractor schedules.
• Develop and design equipment and piping layouts.
• Oversee and coordinate all aspects of construction projects, ensuring efficient execution and adherence to timelines.
• Understand the sequencing of work and the strategy of creating effective project schedules
• Manage project costs, schedules, and performance metrics to ensure successful project delivery.
• Conduct and document technical design reviews with other disciplines to ensure the highest level of quality.
• Create Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Prepare conceptual process and layout drawings, specifications, calculations, charts, and graphs, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, engineering best practices, and EAD standards.
• Lead and manage cross-disciplined project teams comprised of engineers, vendors, subcontractors, owners, suppliers, and any other project stakeholders throughout the execution of the project(s).
• Conduct constructability reviews, evaluate site arrangements, and ensure compliance with safety and quality protocols and standards.
• Communicate effectively with senior-level client project sponsors, addressing concerns and escalating complex issues as needed.
• Interface with clients, vendors, construction administrators, and project teams.
• Adhere to all EAD safety standards and practices.
• Frequently works near moving mechanical parts and equipment*
• Communicate with process and mechanical equipment vendors.
• Establish and nurture professional relationships with clients, project stakeholders, subcontractors, suppliers, and third parties.

Requirements

EAD Engineering is looking for an experienced Project Engineer to support mechanical and process engineering projects in industrial and processing facilities. Someone looking to progress their skills toward Project Manager located within a client facility.

• Ability to troubleshoot process and operational problems and provide solutions.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and process engineering fundamentals.
• Possess and able to maintain a valid driver's license
• 3 – 5 years of experience in engineering and/or project management.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs*
• Excellent time management and problems solving skills
• B.S. Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• AutoCAD experience is a plus.
• PMP certified is a plus or ability to obtain
• Proficiency in Excel, including the use of macros.
• Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, vendors, and in-house staff.
• Travel is required with frequent travel to client sites throughout the United States
• Have the ability to prioritize large volumes of complex work to meet established deadlines
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word
• Commercial and/or Industrial setting with the potential of exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals*
• Possess dispute resolution skills
• Proven leadership ability and detail oriented
• Have a demonstrated ability to solicit, evaluate and manage the price, schedule and quality of objectives of individual projects
• Ability to walk up numerous flights of stairs and/or work in confined spaces
• OSHA 30 certification will need to gain within the first two weeks
