You will keep automation projects moving by supporting data‑center startups, performing on‑site mechanical, electrical, and control checks, and leading startup, checkout, and acceptance testing for warehouse fulfillment and manufacturing systems. You’ll partner with automation and controls engineers to test, troubleshoot, and validate their systems, while providing clear communication and updates to customers and project teams. Travel follows rotations such as 5 on/2 off, 10 on/4 off, or 14 on/7 off, giving you new challenges and locations each project.
We are opening our 2026 hiring pipeline for curious, adaptable problem‑solvers who love travel, hands‑on work, and being part of a team that knows your name. If you can laugh through flight delays, figure things out on the fly, and enjoy solving complex problems, this role may be a perfect fit.
Our four‑week paid training prepares technically skilled individuals for field work, requiring a basic foundation in electrical systems, programming, and communication networking. Success in training is essential; those without this background may not be the right fit.
We are looking for candidates who love travel and can be away from home on rotation, with a working knowledge of electrical systems, programming, and communication networking. Strong adaptability, grit, communication, and problem‑solving skills are essential; you must live within 50 miles of a major airport, have a personal vehicle within 45 days of employment, and be authorized to work in the U.S. A technical degree or equivalent hands‑on experience (3+ years) in electrical, mechanical, or automation engineering is required.
The role requires physical ability to walk long distances, climb ladders, lift up to 50 lb, and stand, kneel, or reach for extended periods in varied environments such as construction sites and outdoors. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities. ProAutomated is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
At ProAutomated you’ll combine work and travel, visiting new cities while supporting customers across North America, with no office to report to. Compensation starts at $60,000–$75,000 depending on location, education, and experience, plus per diem, mileage reimbursement, utilization and weekend bonuses, and a 5 % salary increase after six months. Benefits include health, dental, life insurance, a matching 401(k), disability coverage, paid vacation and flexible time off after 18 months.
