In this position you will be accountable for safe, compliant and cost‑effective operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment assets across a defined geographic area, working closely with operators, peers, senior management, MEICA and process scientists.
A major part of the role is to build, lead and develop a skilled team, ensuring they meet productivity, utilisation and serviceability targets while adhering to health‑ and safety policies and the ISO‑14001 environmental management system.
You will liaise with external contractors and regulatory bodies, drive data‑focused improvements, monitor performance metrics and take corrective action when needed, and you may be required to represent Southern Water to the media or handle incidents out of hours.
All employees are part of a 24/7 incident support framework, ensuring rapid response to service disruptions and delivering the company’s core purpose of “Water for Life” to customers.
The Field Performance Manager role in the Waste Water team at Southern Water, based in Eastbourne, is a full‑time permanent position (37 hours per week) with a salary of up to £51,000 and requires a full UK driving licence.
The ideal candidate holds a full UK driving licence, can be on short‑notice rotas, brings water‑process or related chemistry experience, demonstrates strong remote‑team leadership, resilience under pressure and the ability to balance competing priorities.
