In a safe, efficient and professional manner, the HVAC Technician performs preventative, corrective and predictive maintenance, troubleshoots and services commercial and industrial HVAC systems, including ACUs, AHUs, heat pumps, VAVs, DDCs and ventilation systems. The technician also evaluates systems, provides recommendations, maintains a clean working environment, and follows all safety and health standards while communicating effectively in a fast‑paced team.
Technicians must follow OSHA safety practices, use appropriate personal protective equipment, know the locations of emergency equipment, and complete job hazard analysis forms before work. Attendance at OEM‑provided training, timely submission of timesheets and paperwork, and participation in an on‑call rotation for after‑hours emergencies are also expected.
- Perform preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance on commercial and industrial HVAC systems, including ACUs, AHUs, heat pumps, VAVs, DDCs, chillers, boilers, and kitchen equipment.
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and monitor HVAC equipment using BMS, refrigerant recovery tools, vacuum pumps, and service gauges.
- Analyze system malfunctions, determine root causes, and document findings and corrective actions in service reports.
- Maintain accurate equipment logs, lubrication records, filter and belt inventories, refrigerant and water‑treatment logs, and ensure tools and work areas are clean and safe.
- Order and stock necessary supplies, parts, and critical tools for preventive maintenance and repairs.
- Assist other mechanics and coordinate with the CMMS planner/scheduler to optimize preventive‑maintenance tasks.
- Follow OSHA safety standards, use appropriate PPE, and complete job hazard analysis forms before work.
- Attend OEM‑provided training classes and seminars; submit timesheets and required paperwork promptly.
- Participate in on‑call rotation for after‑hours emergency service.

Required education includes a high school diploma and a certified 2‑year HVAC technical certificate or state‑approved license. Candidates must have industrial/commercial HVAC experience, a valid driver’s license, and an EPA Universal Refrigeration License, with strong reading, writing and speaking abilities; bilingual Spanish is a plus.
