The Safety Manager is responsible for developing and executing all safety strategic goals and providing budgetary guidance for market areas generating $400 million or more in revenue, in accordance with WM Safety Services guidance.
Working closely with corporate and market area senior leadership, the role aligns safety strategy, oversees Drive Cam system management, leads Serious Injury and Fatality (SIF) prevention programs, coordinates safety communications, manages incident investigations and reporting, ensures district safety plans are operational, and supervises hazardous energy control, regulatory compliance, facilities safety audits, recognition programs, employee health monitoring, PPE policy, and the development of safety personnel.
Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree (or high school diploma/GED) with four years of relevant experience and seven to ten years in safety or operations management; preferred credentials are CSP, CIH, PE, QEP, REM, and CHMM certifications.
The position primarily operates in a professional office environment, requiring repetitive motions, coordination, and constant sitting, talking, and hearing, with reasonable accommodations provided as needed.
