Lead Thermomechanical Engineer for Heat Exchangers and Plant Equipment – Baker Hughes is seeking an engineer to advance their career within a team dedicated to taking energy forward. In this role you will conduct mechanical design reviews, oversee procurement documentation, and manage technical documentation between Baker Hughes suppliers and customers throughout project execution. The position focuses on equipment such as shell‑and‑tube heat exchangers and coolers, supporting waste‑heat recovery solutions like HRSG, OTSG, and WHRU, as well as industrial plant heat exchangers for heating and cooling.

Deliver technical documentation and drawings per engineering policies and contracts.
Perform daily activities and issue documentation on time with high quality.
Manage vendor relationships across time zones to ensure on‑time component delivery.
Verify equipment design complies with customer requirements, codes, standards, and BH practices.
Serve as interface with customers for equipment layout, operability, and maintenance studies.
Participate in basic and detailed design reviews.
Develop and check material requisitions; support sourcing and vendor follow‑up.
Execute design, analysis, and evaluation of projects using sound engineering principles.
Conduct routine analyses and contribute to technological development under supervision.
Collaborate with business‑unit contacts to exchange technical information.
Work within a team or under guidance, performing routine complex analyses.

Minimum 3 years (preferred >6) mechanical design experience of heat exchangers and waste‑heat recovery systems.
Knowledge of international standards (ANSI, ASME BPVC, API, B31.3/6).
Proficient with thermomechanical design tools (HTRI, X‑ace, X‑ist) and analysis software.
Experienced in CAD (Unigraphics, Aveva, Smart Equipment) and MS Office; basic AutoCAD.
Fluent in English and able to travel internationally on short notice.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or equivalent experience).
