Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor - Data Center Construction

Description

• Support cost management from early budgeting through post‑contract closeout.
• Prepare and present detailed cost plans, estimates and budgets aligned with scope.
• Monitor actual costs against forecasts during construction and recommend corrective actions.
• Review and validate change orders for documentation and contractual compliance.
• Track contingencies, commitments and cost impacts across packages or phases.
• Produce cost reports, forecasts and stakeholder presentations.
• Contribute to procurement strategies, bid analysis and contractor negotiations.
• Support value engineering and design optimisation to identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with internal financial systems, client requirements and regulatory controls.
• Maintain benchmarking data and historical cost records for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with project managers and design teams to align scope, budget and schedule.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors and internal teams.
• Adhere to SOX control responsibilities where applicable.
• Provide on‑site presence as required by client needs.

Requirements

The candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering or a related field, with 3–5 years of cost management or project controls experience. Experience on large‑scale construction projects, particularly data centres, and familiarity with MEP systems are preferred. RICS accreditation or progress toward it, strong communication skills, and proficiency in cost management tools and cloud applications are also required.
