The Production Engineer serves as the process expert, designing and developing new fuel‑cell manufacturing processes and equipment, driving automation and productivity gains, and reviewing design drawings, specifications, and control plans. Collaboration with value‑stream team members—including quality, product, and industrial engineers—focuses on continuous improvement of safety, cost, quality, capacity, and yields.
The role is based in the Torrington factory, requiring a minimum 40‑hour workweek, Monday‑Friday, with up to 10 % domestic travel and occasional international trips. The position involves working in a 200,000‑sq‑ft cement‑floored facility, handling parts over 25 lb, and operating safely around chemicals, high‑temperature furnaces, and required personal protective equipment.
