You will build and lead Wellington Water’s approach to routine condition assessment from the ground up, acting as the organisation’s technical authority. You will develop survey practices, methodologies and technologies to capture accurate asset and condition information, working with key stakeholders to ensure consistent data that underpins investment and reliability decisions.
This full‑time, 40‑hour role is based in Petone, Wellington, with a remuneration range of $108,644 to $153,379 (including KiwiSaver) depending on skills and experience. The position involves standing up and leading a new team to undertake routine condition surveys and drive innovation and best practice across three‑waters infrastructure.

Wellington Water is a Council Controlled Organisation (CCO) that manages the water infrastructure assets on behalf of Wellington, Hutt, Upper Hutt and Porirua city councils, South Wairarapa District Council, and Greater Wellington Regional Council, from source to sea. This includes all three waters - water supply, stormwater and wastewater. We supply water, plan, investigate, design, project manage and maintain pipes, reservoirs and pump stations in the region.
