Monitor and test the Telecommunication network using Element Management Systems, remote Network Management tools.
To ensure safety and compliance for all employees and the environment.
Use electronic test equipment to diagnose, isolate, and correct failures and issues.
Safely perform work on a variety of communication apparatus and equipment.
Work in the field independently on network issues, and priorities system problems, alarms, and issues.
Work from drawings, specifications, manufacturers’ manuals and instructions to test, operate, maintain, and repair telecommunications equipment.
Ensure the protection of all company physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Expedite or escalate issues as necessary. Create and maintain logs, reports, trouble tickets, associated to your work and repair activities.
Work with peers, clients, and other agencies to meet service levels and insure reliability of the communication networks. Determine network and client impact and make updated to Edison Network-Operation Center (SCE-TCC) and your supervisor.

Maintain a valid driver’s license.
Two or more years of experience with written instructions, blueprints, wiring diagrams, understanding equipment specifications, manuals, and previous experience; to perform assigned tasks.

Knowledge of the applied theory of electricity and electronics, basic engineering principles, communications theory, work methods, use of test & measurement equipment, computers, software, and safe work practices required for indicative duties
Two or more years of experience working with mechanical work and moderate physical labor.
Associate’s Degree in electronics, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and considerable company experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of Telecommunication equipment, or equivalent.
Two or more years of experience working remotely or locally to diagnose, and isolate problems in the telecommunications network and make or recommend necessary repairs.
Ability to apply the required knowledge to supervise and perform Communication Technician work.
This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
Four or more years of experience with maintaining, repairing, and installing sophisticated electronic equipment.
Three or more years of experience using tools, computers, and test equipment to isolate and repair electrical equipment.
Position will require up to daily traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
