In this role you will supervise the delivery of a range of facilities services to the prison, ensuring compliance with contractual commitments and the Service Level Agreement. You will communicate issues promptly through line management, ensure health, safety and security standards are met, sign timesheets, and liaise with HMPS management to manage expectations. You will also support local and business zero‑carbon programmes and maintain H&S standards across the contract.
Our facilities management expertise helps keep 60 secure premises across England and Wales running smoothly. We are looking for a Facilities Team Leader with proven experience in facilities or estate management, excellent communication skills, reliability, and the ability to build strong relationships with on‑site clients and staff. Team‑players who thrive in collaborative settings are encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will have previous experience in facilities or estate management, with relevant qualifications considered an advantage. Knowledge of health and safety legislation, IT literacy, and experience with Computer‑Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) systems are desirable. IOSH qualification, strong team‑management abilities, the capacity to work independently and meet deadlines, and a calm attitude under pressure are also valued. Prison security clearance is required, and Amey will support you through the process.
Amey offers long‑term stable contracts, Platinum status from Investors in People, and a culture that supports career growth and personal development. Benefits are flexible, allowing you to choose options that suit your home and work life.
You will enjoy a competitive annual salary with potential yearly reviews, at least 24 days of holiday plus bank holidays (with the option to purchase additional days), and a generous pension scheme with extra employer contributions. Flexible benefits include insurance options, a Cycle2Work scheme, discounted gym memberships, and exclusive discounts on retail and healthcare services. Two Social Impact Days per year support volunteering, and family‑friendly policies assist new parents or caregivers. Membership in Amey’s Affinity Networks connects diverse communities across the organisation.
