Lead purchasing team, manage vendor relations, sourcing, and inventory for glass manufacturing
-Ensure compliance and mitigate supply chain risks -Align purchasing goals with organizational objectives -Build and lead a high-performing purchasing team -Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as needed -Lead and coach a team of Buyers and Logistics Professionals to meet performance goals and KPIs -Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans and vendor negotiations to optimize cost, quality and delivery -Manage procurement of glass and related materials, ensuring alignment with production schedules and budget targets -Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve supply chain issues and improve purchasing processes. -Utilize ERP and vendor management systems to manage orders, invoices, and inventory -Champion continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles (e.g., Kanban, Kaizen) -Ensure compliance with Canadian procurement regulations, company policies, and ethical sourcing standards -Identify and mitigate risks to ensure successful project delivery
-Excellent communication skills with internal and external stakeholders -Bachelor’s Degree -Deep understanding of supply chain and procurement strategies -Minimum 2 years of experience leading or managing a team -Working knowledge of Canadian and U.S. customs regulations and cross-border shipping processes -Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities -Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment -Professional designations such as CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional), CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management), or SCMP (Supply Chain Management Professional) are preferred -5 to 7 years of experience as a Purchasing Manager or Senior Buyer in a manufacturing environment -Experience in the glass industry experience is an asset) -Advanced Excel Skills (Formulas, Pivot Tables, Macros) -Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles -Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems -Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of application.
