The position assists with medication administration while maintaining compliance with all state and federal regulations and HRA standards.
Essential functions include checking the six rights of medication administration at three critical points, assisting residents according to their Medication Observation Record, documenting all actions clearly, maintaining an organized medication cart, providing required treatments, responding promptly to resident calls, respecting refusals, explaining medications, observing for adverse reactions, reporting errors, and seeking supervisor assistance when needed. The role also requires adherence to infection control and OSHA waste disposal guidelines, respectful interaction with residents, families, staff, and visitors, performance of assigned duties, knowledge of emergency procedures, and maintaining professional appearance, sanitation, and safety.
Non‑essential functions involve exemplifying CORE Values through servant leadership, encouraging teamwork, attending community meetings, participating in Life Enrichment activities, completing required HRA University courses, and being familiar with the Safe Return program for missing persons. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent with state‑specific training, at least one year of experience (preferably in long‑term care or geriatric nursing), knowledge of the Medication Observation Record, effective communication skills, clerical and Microsoft Office proficiency, and a passion for working with senior citizens.
