Senior Test Technician

Description

The role involves mechanical testing of polymer and metallic materials, interpreting internal and client requirements, operating complex testing equipment, maintaining systematic records, and preparing reports with data analysis. Additional duties include setting up instrumentation, ensuring compliance with quality, health and safety systems, and performing general laboratory tasks.

• Conduct mechanical testing of polymer and metallic materials.
• Interpret internal and client specifications to determine test requirements.
• Operate and set up complex mechanical testing and data capture equipment.
• Maintain systematic, accurate test records and documentation.
• Prepare detailed test reports, including data interpretation and analysis.
• Follow Element’s internal procedures, quality management, health and safety systems.
• Apply instrumentation knowledge to configure and calibrate test setups.
• Perform lower‑to‑intermediate complex testing independently, seeking clarification only when needed.
• Manage testing projects from start to finish, ensuring accountability and timely results.
• Build, maintain, and repair test fixtures and laboratory equipment as required.

Requirements

Candidates should have at least an associate degree in mechanical or materials science, solid English and math skills, and experience in a mechanical testing environment. Familiarity with ISO 17025, ASTM/ISO testing standards, strong attention to detail, communication abilities, and a team‑player attitude are required. The position demands self‑motivation, multitasking, analytical problem‑solving, and the ability to work independently.
