Description

The Millworker supports daily manufacturing operations by loading and unloading raw materials, assembling and fabricating wood components, and moving parts through the production line. This role requires collaboration and flexibility, allowing the employee to shift between tasks to meet production goals.

• Manufacture handcrafted doors, planning joints and assembling parts
• Sandblast and finish wood surfaces, applying veneer, stain, or varnish
• Operate woodworking machines (saws, varlopes, mortisers, shapers, routers, jointers) and hand tools to cut, shape, and form components
• Study plans, specifications, or drawings and mark dimensions on wood
• Trim joints, assemble subassemblies using glue, clamps, nails, screws, or other fasteners
• Repair or remodel wood accessories and related products
• Estimate material quantities, types, and costs
• Take accurate measurements with tape measure and calipers
• Diagnose and conduct minor wood repairs

Requirements

• Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently
• Perform basic reading, writing, and math (fractions, decimals)
• Read, follow, and understand written and oral work instructions
• Lift 1‑30 lb frequently; 30‑60 lb regularly; 60+ lb occasionally
• Push/pull up to 100 lb with assistance rarely
• Bend frequently, kneel and squat occasionally, and stand for long periods
• Work in hot or cold, noisy, dusty environments
• High school diploma required
• Four‑year apprenticeship or 4+ years trade experience with related coursework
• Red Seal or trade certification considered an asset
