Key responsibilities include performing detailed earthwork takeoffs and quantity calculations for heavy civil projects, developing and maintaining 3D models in TBC, and interpreting civil plans, surveys, specifications, and geotechnical reports to support estimating activities. The technician also prepares cost estimates, collaborates with project managers, engineers, and field personnel, assists in data management and model handoff, and stays current on TBC tools and industry best practices.
We are seeking a highly skilled Earthwork CAD Technician with strong experience in earthwork takeoffs and digital modeling using Trimble Business Center (TBC). This role supports the Pre‑Construction team by producing accurate quantities, constructible models, and data.
Qualified candidates have at least two years of experience in heavy civil construction estimating or related pre‑construction roles, proficiency with Trimble Business Center, and the ability to read engineering drawings, survey data, and digital terrain models. Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills are required, along with the ability to create constructible 3D models; experience with estimation software, field work, drone mapping, or GPS machine control is a plus.
