The Energy Modeling Team Lead is accountable for the overall performance of the Energy Modelling team, overseeing financial results, business development, and successful project delivery while ensuring adherence to applicable codes and standards.
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate the Energy Modelling team, reviewing and sealing all work.
- Manage the team’s budgeting, forecasting, resource allocation, and achieve revenue/profit targets.
- Drive business development and act as project accountant for all invoicing.
- Schedule workload, set project milestones, and track progress.
- Provide technical guidance, identify design errors, and conduct technical reviews.
- Develop and analyze energy models using eQuest, RETScreen, HOT2000, and AutoCAD to ensure code compliance.
- Prepare documentation for Ontario Building Code (SB‑10, SB‑12) and incentive programs such as CMHC MLI Select and ACLP.
- Communicate with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle from initiation to close‑out.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Systems Engineering, are licensed P.Eng. in Ontario, and have at least five years of experience in energy modelling within the building sector. They possess a solid understanding of building systems, relevant codes, and demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
