Water Resources Staff Engineer

Description

• Perform stormwater design, watershed permitting, and hydrologic/hydraulic analyses, including FEMA studies.
• Prepare design drawings, calculations, drainage designs, and technical reports.
• Develop hydrologic and hydraulic models.
• Coordinate with civil, electrical, and environmental teams.
• Conduct drainage calculations and designs.
• Write technical reports documenting design methodologies.
• Assist with site visits and inspections.
• Support construction stormwater team with shear stress calculations, exhibit creation, and erosion control design.
• Utilize GIS datasets for water resources projects.

Requirements

• BS or MS in civil or water resources engineering.
• 0–4 years of stormwater hydrology and modeling experience.
• Self‑starter with strong communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to produce technical proposals, reports, and publications.
• Familiarity with hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HydroCAD, HEC‑1, HEC‑HMS, HEC‑RAS, Flo‑2D).
• Experience with CAD and GIS tools (AutoCAD Civil 3D, ESRI ArcGIS).
• Professional certifications such as EIT, PE, CPESC, or CESSWI.

Benefits

The position offers a salary range of $70,000 to $80,000 per year.
