Daily duties include field sampling of wells, probes, headers, blowers and flares, recording and analyzing the data, and adjusting gas flow rates based on supervisor consultation. Technicians operate and calibrate analytical equipment, maintain daily field logs, and communicate findings to supervisors and, when needed, clients. They also perform routine and non‑routine repairs, supervise vendors or subcontractors, conduct on‑site health‑and‑safety tailgate meetings, and perform surface emission monitoring with air‑monitoring instruments.
The position requires the use of hand and power tools, ladders, portable saws, grinders, extrusion welders, and occasionally backhoes or forklifts to repair gas‑well or leachate piping. Technicians must be able to lift manhole covers, access sumps or vaults, and service leachate or condensate pumps, completing checklists and daily logs for each site. Active participation in the SAFE process, safety‑training sessions, and assistance to other field staff are also expected.
Applicants should have completed 40‑hour health‑and‑safety and OSHA training, a high‑school diploma (preferred), and training in polyethylene pipe fusion or combustible‑gas sensor operation. Zero to three years of O&M experience with mechanical systems or pipeline construction, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to interpret plans, specifications, and codes are required. Effective organizational, written and verbal communication skills and the physical ability to drive a pick‑up, lift up to 50 lb, dig, climb ladders, and work in varied weather conditions are essential.
The position offers an hourly pay range of $27.00–$32.00 and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, a 100 % employer‑funded ESOP and 401(k) match, student‑debt assistance, paid holidays, PTO, parental leave, safety‑footwear reimbursement, paid training with all necessary tools, travel per diem, and a company‑provided truck and cell phone for qualifying field‑service roles.
