Here at Havebury Housing, we are looking for Hostel Assistants (Locums) to join our team at Lucy Adams House! Your role is to ensure the safety and security of the Project, colleagues, visitors and residents within the Lucy Adams service. You will be required to assist the Management Team and Support Workers to deliver support to residents and administration to help residents towards independent living. You will work closely with Support Workers to respond appropriately to resident's day to day needs and manage the needs of the 24 hour hostel building.

  • To monitor and manage through relevant systems any stored or stock items as required in adherence to good housekeeping
  • Ensuring the rules of the hostel are adhered to by residents and when they fail to do so highlighting this with the Management and Support Team for appropriate action
  • Assisting with the preparation of rooms for re-letting
  • Assisting the Management team and Support Workers to help develop residents social and life skills
  • Carrying out checks on residents to ensure their safety and the security of the building and its visitors, monitoring activity in the hostel via CCTV, and ensuring access is only given to residents and authorised personnel

We are looking for someone who has...

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate resilience, flexibility and adaptability

  • Computer literacy and ability to learn new IT systems
  • Knowledge of issues leading to homelessness
  • Experience in relating effectively with individuals in an empathetic way
