The Project Designer role supports the planning and execution of fiber‑to‑the‑home (FTTH) and outside‑plant (OSP) infrastructure. Working with survey data, GIS platforms, and engineering inputs, the designer creates accurate, constructible plans while coordinating with CAD, permitting, and QA teams.

Develop high‑level FTTH/OSP/ISP designs, including routing, boundaries, handhole concepts, and splice strategy.
Incorporate survey, LiDAR, RTK, and GIS data to determine optimal routes.
Validate base maps, utilities, and right‑of‑way constraints; flag conflicts and propose mitigations.
Produce HLD drawings using Aecon’s telecom title‑block and maintain version control.
Use AutoCAD (and ESRI/GIS where applicable) to create design deliverables.
Conduct internal reviews, resolve comments via the Comment Resolution Matrix, and prepare documents for municipal consent and permit applications.
Support QA/QC for design audits and contribute to lessons learned and template improvements.

Post‑secondary education in Electrical/Civil Engineering, Architectural Technology or related field (preferred).
