Associate Civil Engineer - Federal Engineering and Design Team

Description

The Associate Engineer will join the Federal Engineering and Design Team, assisting with grading, drainage, utilities, and site layout on federal projects. The role offers hands‑on experience, collaboration with senior engineers, and exposure to federal standards such as UFC, DoD, and VA, while enhancing skills in design and modeling software.

• Provide small‑scale design elements for federal engineering projects using standard techniques.
• Produce basic plans and perform technical tasks under senior engineer guidance.
• Develop and apply design and modeling software skills for engineering solutions.
• Assist with project schedules, calculations, and preparation of construction documents.
• Research, recommend solutions, and draft technical reports.
• Create and maintain project and client information in the firm’s project management system.

Requirements

• Travel and work in various terrains and weather conditions at construction sites.
• Minimum one year of engineering experience; Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Possess Engineer‑In‑Training (EIT) certification.
• Working knowledge or ability to become proficient in Civil 3D and related technologies.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and willingness to travel for field work.
