• Supervise planned preventive maintenance and reactive works using SimPRO and client platforms.
• Allocate and coordinate tasks for on‑site and mobile engineers.
• Manage specialist subcontractors to ensure safe, timely, specification‑compliant work.
• Escalate compliance, SLA, or resourcing risks to the Contract Manager.
• Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation and maintain up‑to‑date RAMS.
• Control permits to work and access permits, identify hazards, and secure unsafe plant.
• Require engineers to complete SimPRO instruction sets with photographic evidence and review subcontractor documentation.
• Investigate incidents or plant failures and produce technical reports with lessons learned.
• Maintain site logbooks, audits, drawings, and plant documentation; support monthly client reporting.
• Conduct plant inspections, fault‑finding, operational checks and monitor BMS systems.
• Identify energy‑efficiency and environmental improvements through plant run‑time reviews.
• Lead, motivate, and develop engineering teams, delivering toolbox talks, inductions, and technical training.

Requirements

Sowga Ltd is seeking an experienced Contract Supervisor to lead and support a team of engineers across multiple sites in the South East of England. The role is predominantly remote, requiring regular travel to client offices and operational sites. Acting as the key link between engineers, subcontractors, administrators, and the Contract Manager, the supervisor will ensure that planned and reactive maintenance activities are delivered safely, compliantly, and in line with contractual service level agreements.

The position reports to the Contract Manager and offers a remote‑based working environment with occasional out‑of‑hours or weekend duties to support scheduled maintenance and projects. A full UK driving licence is required for travel between sites.

Essential qualifications include City & Guilds Level II/III (or equivalent) in an electrical or mechanical discipline, 18th Edition I.E.E. certification, and a strong background in building services/M&E with proven experience supervising technical teams. Desirable credentials comprise City & Guilds BS 2391 Level 3, IOSH Working Safely, PASMA/IPAF certifications, and training in unvented hot water or high‑voltage systems.

• Hold City & Guilds Level II/III (or equivalent) in Electrical or Mechanical discipline and 18th Edition I.E.E.
• Demonstrate strong building services/M&E background and safe electrical working practices.
• Possess proven experience supervising engineers or leading technical teams.
• Exhibit strong organisational and communication skills and hold a full UK driving licence.
• Desirable: City & Guilds BS 2391 Level 3, IOSH Working Safely, PASMA/IPAF certifications, unvented hot water systems training, high‑voltage systems experience.
