Site Safety & Health Officer

Description

• Perform tasks specific to contract task orders on-site throughout work execution.
• Make binding decisions on Tepa’s behalf.
• Implement project safety processes per the approved Health and Safety Plan, Accident Prevention Plan, and Activity Hazard Analyses.
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety briefings as required.
• Conduct daily and monthly site safety audits.
• Fill out or obtain daily work permits such as confined space, hot work, safe work, or dig permits.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to secure safety certifications for subcontractor employees (e.g., fall protection, confined space entry, trenching, equipment operations, asbestos and lead abatement).
• Document competent persons on site for each scope of work.
• Amend activity hazard analyses to reflect field changes on project sites.
• Implement reporting procedures for incidents or accidents.
• Investigate and evaluate incidents/accidents to determine procedural changes needed to prevent recurrence.

Requirements

Location: This position requires onsite presence five days a week at our project site in Columbus, GA.

• High School Diploma or General Education Diploma.
• 5+ years of continuous construction industry safety experience supervising/managing general construction safety programs and hazard analyses.
• OSHA 30‑hour Construction Safety & Health training completed within the last five years.
• OSHA 30‑hour General Industry Safety & Health training.
• Formal construction or industry safety and health training covering USACE EM 385‑1‑1 subjects.
• Intermediate proficiency in ProCore, BlueBeam, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Intermediate proficiency in oral and written communication.
• Intermediate proficiency in problem‑solving.
