Description

Assist skilled craft workers in performing their assigned duties and work in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision. The role requires taking direction from a higher skilled worker or foreman.

• Eliminate waste by reducing waiting, rework, transportation, material storage, and time.
• Seek supervisor guidance when unsure about work or safety practices.
• Learn and understand all safety hazards related to the job.
• Safely operate work‑related tools and equipment.
• Identify improvement opportunities in tasks, methods, and learn from others.
• Maintain positive relationships with crew members.
• Produce high‑quality work safely and productively.
• Provide feedback to ensure materials, tools, equipment, and information are available.
• Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood frameworks, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
• Lift, push, or pull objects up to 50 lb occasionally.
• Work up to 12‑hour shifts in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions.

Requirements

The job demands wearing personal protective equipment, frequent reaching above shoulder height and below the waist, climbing and maintaining balance on steel or wood frameworks, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds, and lifting, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 lb. Workers must also navigate confined, cluttered, and uneven areas, and be able to work up to 12‑hour shifts in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions.

• Perform basic math calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Hold NCCER Core Curriculum certification or a high school diploma (preferred).
• Have 1‑3+ years experience in industrial/commercial construction (level I‑III preferred).
• Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (steel‑toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, vest).
