The Security Systems Technician/Specialist is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining electronic security systems such as CCTV, access control, and alarms, while providing technical support and troubleshooting expertise. This role involves collaborating with clients to assess needs, delivering end-user training, and managing project execution—including scheduling, estimating, and resource coordination. Travel within Canada may be required, and participation in overtime, after-hours work, and on-call duties is essential. The specialist must uphold high standards of professionalism, safety compliance, and communication with clients, vendors, and team members. Additional responsibilities include reporting project progress to management, and ensuring all work meets industry codes, specifications, and safety regulations.
- Provide estimating assistance, assist with take-offs, preparation of schedules along with other project management functions.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on security equipment.
- Provide technical expertise to test and troubleshoot systems.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their security needs and recommend appropriate systems. Provide end user training and support as required.
- Install, configure, and maintain security systems such as CCTV, access control and alarm systems for various properties and clients.
- As the main point of contact for either a project or regional representative, all calls, work requests, scheduling and execution of work will filter through you.
- As a front line representee of the company, you are expected to set a high-level professionalism when dealing with clients, owner’s representatives, as well as venders when communicating and / or working within their facility.
- Collaborate with IT and facilities teams to integrate security systems with network infrastructure.

- Capable of managing equipment and material logistics efficiently
- The ability to travel within Canada will at times be asked to assist with client projects, however the priority will be to remain within your regional area.
- Familiarity with Occupational Health & Safety regulations and QA/QC procedures
- Proficiency in installing and configuring CCTV, access control, and alarm systems
- Familiarize and adhere to all company safety policies, Occupational Health & Safety regulations and QA/QC procedures.
- Strong troubleshooting and testing skills for security technologies
- Skilled in using digital tools and technology to optimize workflow
