Design Engineering Manager

Description

• Leads and collaborate on designs in a team environment, including formal design reviews
• Develops prototypes for new equipment and fixture designs and executes testing on said prototypes, as necessary
• Completes all project assignments within established scope, budget, and schedule
• Generates solid models for manufacturing tooling and fixtures along with detailed dimensioned drawings
• Coordinate fabrication efforts with the Tool Room and Maintenance departments
• Provides technical review, understanding, and recommendations of sketches, descriptions, and specifications provided by engineers
• Responsible for aligning Design Engineering team with organizational goals
• Provide the day-to-day management of the design engineering group

Requirements

Our Fayetteville, AR location is seeking an experienced Design Engineering Manager to provide leadership and technical design support for the development of new products, fixtures, tooling, and special machinery that will result in increasing productivity, improving reliability, or enhancing product quality. The Design Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team that generates solid models for manufacturing tooling and fixtures along with detailed dimensioned drawings.

• Design experience from concept to completion, required
• Prior tool and die, product development, and/or fixture design experience, required
• A strong understanding of manufacturing processes (milling, turning, welding, etc.) and their limitations, required
• Demonstrated ability to interpret 2D mechanical drawings and generating creative solutions to unique design challenges
• Strong Familiarity with Machinery’s Handbook
• 1000+ hours experience using 3D CAD software, Autodesk Inventor, or equivalent CAD software, required
• Possess an Engineering Degree from an accredited university, Mechanical degree highly preferred
• Ability to navigate ambiguous situations, influence peers and drive execution
• Previous leadership experience leading technical design engineers, required
• 8-10+ years of hands-on relevant design experience, required
• Uses a strong analytical approach to problem-solving and create cost effective solutions. Uses critical thinking and problem-solving skills to drive operational excellence
