Processing survey field data for boundary, topo, volumetric, hydrographic, etc. using Carlson software and/or company-specific software.
Provide training for Land Engineering production staff to ensure that field data acquisition and office mapping is performed accurately, efficiently, and completely.
Track assigned projects status and provide timely feedback to update progress schedules.
Provide first line support to Land Engineering field survey and office mapping staff.
Update procedure documentation for Land Engineering processes, as needed.
Ensure surveying and mapping products are delivered to clients on schedule.
Review external mapping deliverables and communicate with contractors.
Perform mapping/PLS-CADD tasks as required to complete projects.
Quality control and quality assurance of surveying and mapping products.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Surveying and Mapping, Geomatics, Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field is preferred.
A valid GA driver’s license is required.
Experience with LiDAR data and/or laser scanning data is a plus.
Strong communication skills
Knowledge of the various survey coordinate datums and projection systems and their differences.
Understanding of property research needs to support field surveying.
Must have at least one year of verifiable driving experience (Must hold a valid driver’s license for the class vehicle to be operated. Driving permits are not typically considered a valid driver’s license).
Responsible decision maker and schedule oriented.
Must consent to a continuous monitoring of your Motor Vehicle Record
Minimum 2 years of field and/or office surveying and mapping experience (or college-related course work) is preferred. A combination of both field and office experience is a plus.
Working knowledge and experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D or comparable mapping software is required.
Ability to interpret surveying and property documents and drawings.
Must have no revocation of driving privileges within the 36 months prior to application, no convictions of major traffic violations (DUI, hit and run, reckless driving, etc.) within the 12 months prior to application, or any pending charges for a major traffic violation at the time of application.
LSIT certification or RLS certification in Georgia is a plus.
Experience in the utility industry is a plus.
Understanding of CADD Mapping, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), and Global Positioning System (GPS) for land surveying.
Capacity to establish, maintain, and enhance client relationships and to focus on the needs of the client.
Please Note: This is a hybrid work position & as per current corporate policy, you will be required to be IN THE OFFICE @ 241 Ralph McGill Blvd, Atlanta, GA a Minimum of four (4) days per week (Currently Monday's, Tuesday's, Wednesday's & Thursday's) and/or as additionally required.
Experience in geographic information systems (GIS) is preferred.
This position has been identified as a role that will require the use of a Georgia Power fleet vehicle. The following will be required if you are selected for this position:
Knowledge of Carlson data collection software, AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcView, and PLS-CADD.
Experience with PLS-CADD is preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge of land and construction surveying concepts & techniques.
Ability to function as part of a team and to maintain a positive attitude in challenging situations.
Experience in global positioning systems for land surveying (GPS) is a plus.
Working knowledge of survey data processing using a variety of available software is preferred.
