Senior Water Resource Engineer
Montrose Environmental Group
Provides environmental services to industrial, energy, and government sectors.
Lead water resources projects, mentor staff, and manage modelling for clients in Ontario.
Have the opportunity to interact and work with a community of technical experts from local offices and other Montrose regions and technical disciplines.
Restoration and Geomorphology – manage the design and execution of stream, river, and wetland restoration projects; complete geomorphic and hydraulic analyses to evaluate channel erosion thresholds; and assist in erosion hazard assessment studies and risk assessment
Infrastructure – provide project management and engineering support for hydraulic structures, bank protection, LID, master drainage plans, asset management, flood assessment and mitigation; complete asset management studies and inventories for municipal clients; provide guidance and senior support during construction projects
Modelling – manage and direct hydrologic and hydraulic modelling projects for flood risk assessments, watershed planning, and infrastructure design; use industry standard water resource modelling software to carry our predictive analysis on watersheds, drainage systems, and channel hydraulics
Partner with existing and emerging clients such as municipal governments, conservation authorities, academic institutions, and private industry, working toward implementing environmentally sustainable solutions for a broad range of projects.

Undergraduate degree in Civil, Environmental or Water Resources Engineering
10+ years of experience in water resources engineering, specifically related to the assessment, design, permitting and construction of water resources projects
Knowledge and experience with HEC-RAS, PCSWMM, and other hydraulic/hydrologic modeling software
Possess a valid Class G driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Comprehensive understanding of provincial and federal legislation in relation to the water resource sector
Ability to effectively manage projects and business development efforts of various sizes and complexity simultaneously
Licensed to practice as a Professional Engineer in Ontario
Experience with stormwater management planning and design concepts, flooding impact assessment methodology and municipal infrastructure design
Strong ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and written
