Assistant Project Manager

Description

• Implement document updates distribution to project stakeholders.
• Create and maintain PO, submittal/spec, and SO logs.
• Assist in developing and distributing bid documents for trade RFPs.
• Process submittals and understand specifications and project plans.
• Interpret construction documents, including drawings and specifications.
• Track material deliveries against project submittals, quality, and quantity.
• Process project closeout documents and ensure completion.
• Analyze data and compile reports related to cost, POs, inventory, and scheduling.
• Prepare monthly job cost summary reports.
• Manage inbound/outbound cost accounting and SOVs.
• Provide administrative support to the Construction Superintendent.
• Coordinate subcontractors and communicate due dates.
• Assist in purchasing processes and write basic scopes of work.
• Review, track, and distribute RFIs; compose RFIs with oversight.
• Compose meeting minutes and structure project meeting agendas.
• Manage project documents in the SSI file system and update contract set documents.
• Compose construction status reports with photos and descriptions.
• Collaborate to obtain signed Project Status Reports monthly.
• Communicate effectively with clients and trades.
• Develop construction schedules and produce 2–4-week lookaheads.
• Perform data entry, maintain records, and proofread documents.
• Coordinate projects and ensure timely task completion.
• Monitor submission status and report to customers.

Requirements

• Knowledge of commercial construction and remodeling trades.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
• Familiarity with project management software including MS Office Suite and MS Project.
• APM certification from the PMI is preferred.
• Ability to pass a drug screen and obtain a government secret clearance.
• Proficient in reading and understanding MEP drawings and schedules.
• Experience with the Resident Management System (RMS) of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is preferred.
• Exposure to cutting-edge construction technologies and modern project delivery methods.
• 2-5 years of experience in commercial/industrial MEP or construction environments.
