Facilities Operator I, Casual
City Of Regina
The City of Regina provides municipal services, infrastructure, and governance to residents and businesses.
Operate and maintain indoor arenas, pools and facilities, handling HVAC, chemicals, security and customer service.
Enforce procedural rules and regulations, ensuring the personal safety of facility users.
Oversee building and preventative maintenance schedules, ensuring the facility's general condition through cleaning and minor electrical and plumbing repairs.
Ensure the security of the facility and its equipment, including opening and closing the facility and confirming that all users have left the premises.
Conduct regular maintenance and servicing of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment, pool and arena facilities, mechanical equipment, and boiler systems.
Provide customer service to facility users by offering information, explaining schedules, rules, and regulations, and addressing concerns and requests.
Monitor and adjust water treatment chemicals as needed.
Operate and maintain various equipment, including forklifts, ice flooding machines, and small tractors.

Knowledge of effective facility and equipment maintenance practices and procedures.
Ability to operate standard maintenance equipment safely and effectively and perform routine equipment maintenance and checks adhering to standards as outlined by the City of Regina and applicable Provincial guidelines.
Must have or be willing to obtain First Aid Certificate, WHIMIS Certification and Fireman’s Certificate as required.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and must have the means and ability to travel within the City of Regina.
Ability to provide quality internal and external customer service.
Knowledge of safe handling procedures, characteristics and uses of various chemicals used in the operation of equipment (i.e. Freon, Chlorine, and Anhydrous Ammonia) and general cleaning agents.
The knowledge, skills and abilities for this position require successful completion of the Saskatchewan Refrigeration Plant Operators Certificate and Swimming Pool Operators Certificate combined with one (1) to two (2) years related experience.
Successful candidate will be required to provide proof of acquired education.
Successful candidate may be required to obtain and provide a satisfactory criminal record check, as per the City of Regina's Criminal Record Check Policy.
Ability to physically perform the position functions, including heavy lifting.
Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
Ability to properly use chemicals and to conduct tests adhering to departmental standards and guidelines.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to work independently under minimal supervision demonstrating sound judgement and problem solving skills.
