Lead safety & health program for complex construction projects, ensuring compliance and improvement.
Prepares technical and regulatory reports, researches issues to support ESH program execution, evaluates data, and reports performance trends.
Supervises a safety services program, or a major component of it, inclusive of technical and administrative aspects.
Builds and maintains working relationships with stakeholders and addresses their issues.
Emphasizes and uses risk assessment, data analysis, and Bechtel’s ESH Management System to help track and achieve continual improvement.
Provides technical support within ESH teams and to Engineering, Construction, Commissioning and Startup, Operations, Legal, Contracts, Procurement, Management, and other functions regarding ESH program execution.
Provides input to Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Subcontracts, Commissioning, and other groups involving significant safety and health issues, risks, and techniques to reduce adverse impacts on the project
Prepares, or helps prepare, Safety and Health Management Plans and awareness and training programs in compliance with Bechtel standards, the ESH Management System, and contract and regulatory requirements.
Ensures that safety and health requirements are integrated within bid proposals, planning documents, design criteria, construction and commissioning plans, schedules, and subcontract documents.
Participates in ESH emergency preparedness planning and confirms investigation and resolution of safety and health incidents.
Facilitates execution of the safety component of a health and safety program inclusive of technical and administrative aspects for assigned area
Participates in and leads meetings with customers, team members, and contractors/subcontractors to advise them of safety and health requirements
Drafts and implements Safety and Health Management Plans, associated plans and procedures, and training program
Researches complex issues and regulatory requirements, performs studies and risk assessments, and prepares documentation and reports
Supervises assigned safety personnel and provides guidance on their work activities.

Working knowledge of safe work practices and experience in conducting incident investigations, compliance audits and project health surveys
Previous Senior Advisor/Supervisory experience is essential
Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) related to occupational safety or health and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
Minimum of ten years of WHS professional experience in heavy construction or infrastructure projects
Knowledge of safety management, monitoring programs, principles, and methodologies
Operates across multiple sectors, including infrastructure, nuclear, security and environmental, oil, gas, chemicals, mining, and metals, as well as manufacturing, battery production and technology.
Significant presence in North America, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia.
