Field
In the field you’ll keep automation projects moving by performing mechanical, electrical, and control checks for data‑center startups, leading startup and acceptance testing for warehouse fulfillment and manufacturing systems, and partnering with automation engineers to troubleshoot and validate equipment. You will provide clear updates to customers and project teams, and you’ll follow rotating travel schedules that can range from five days on and two days off to fourteen days on and seven days off.
If you prefer being on the move rather than seated at a desk, ProAutomated’s 2026 hiring pipeline is now open for adaptable problem‑solvers who enjoy travel, hands‑on work, and a team that knows your name. We’re looking for people who can stay upbeat during flight delays, think on their feet, and relish solving complex challenges.
We seek candidates who love travel and are comfortable being away from home on rotating assignments, with a working knowledge of electrical systems, programming, and networking. Ideal applicants are adaptable, gritty, strong communicators, and problem‑solvers who live within 50 miles of a major airport, can provide a personal vehicle shortly after hire, and are authorized to work in the United States. A technical degree or equivalent hands‑on experience of at least three years in electrical, mechanical, or automation engineering is required.
The role’s essential physical functions include walking long distances across large facilities, climbing ladders or working at heights, lifting and moving up to 50 lb, and standing, kneeling, or reaching for extended periods in varied environments such as construction sites, outdoors, and hot or cold conditions. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
Transparency is central to our culture. New hires undergo a four‑week paid training program that equips technically skilled individuals for field work, assuming they already have a basic understanding of electrical systems, programming, and communication networking. Those lacking this foundation may not be the best fit at this time.
Working with us means combining work and travel: you’ll visit new cities, tackle unique projects, and earn travel rewards while directly serving customers across North America, with no fixed office. Compensation starts at $60,000‑$75,000 plus per‑diem, mileage, utilization and weekend bonuses, and we reward growth with merit raises and a guaranteed 5 % salary increase after six months. Benefits include health, dental and life insurance, a matching 401(k), disability coverage, paid vacation, and flexible time off after 18 months.
If you want a challenging, travel‑filled career where your effort truly matters, we’d love to meet you. ProAutomated is an equal‑opportunity employer committed to diversity, inclusion, and a respectful workplace where employment decisions are based on merit and business needs.
