The operator reads and verifies departmental paperwork, breaks out smaller glass lites, inspects them for quality, prepares carriers, loads glass onto the correct carriers in proper sequence with separators, operates software applications, performs routine maintenance, keeps the work area clean, and may assist with other GPC functions while adhering to business process documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Read and verify department paperwork to confirm production requirements.
- Break out usable smaller glass lites from larger stock glass.
- Inspect glass for compliance with production and quality standards.
- Prepare carriers and load glass onto the correct carrier in proper sequence with separators.
- Perform daily routine maintenance and inspections.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Support other GPC functions as needed.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts and process enhancements.
- Follow business process documentation and safety procedures.
- Apply basic mathematical skills for measurements.
- Operate hand and power tools safely.
- Follow instructions and accept supervision.
- Be in good physical condition and use approved safety equipment.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, be able to read English work instructions, possess basic math, communication, and problem‑solving skills, and be familiar with glass shapes, hand and power tools, keyboarding and computer use. Physical fitness, safety awareness, reliable attendance, and the ability to work under pressure in a changing environment are also required.
