Provide advice, guidance and coaching to support the implementation Health and Safety requirements. Monitor compliance against Health and Safety requirements.
Ensure compliance to the relevant Health and Safety legislation, including National Rail Safety Law and Inland Rail Health and Safety requirements.
Effectively report on progress, risks, barriers, budget and forecasts through a variety of mediums including regular written reports and regular Project Meetings.
Help develop additional Health and Safety documentation and review and prepare project Health and Safety Plans.
Review of health and safety aspects of service providers’ contracts.
Ensure contractors meet and implement health and safety requirements.
Liaise with external stakeholders on health and safety matters and report on health and safety performance.
Carry out health and safety audits where required, including of third-party service providers and contractors. Conduct and participate in risk assessments, identify hazards and manage risks.
Manage and monitor health and safety system implementation, ensuring compliance of Inland Rail personnel with health and safety requirements.
Review of third-party safety plans, records and related documents.
Prepare and deliver toolbox talks and relevant health and safety training material.

Health and Safety audit experience.
Good communication skills both written and verbal. Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
Qualification in Health and Safety, or proven experience as a Health and Safety Manager / Advisor / Coordinator in the rail industry or similar industry.
Current RIW card, or ability to obtain RIW card promptly. Drivers Licence – Class C
Sound knowledge of relevant state and federal safety legislation and standards.
