Hotel Chief Engineer

Description

Complete Building Services partners with major hotel brands such as Marriott, Hilton, Holiday Inn, and Cambria, and is hiring a Hotel Chief Engineer for Washington, DC. The position offers an hourly salary of $32–$35 with eligibility for overtime. The Chief Engineer will oversee facility operations, budgeting, compliance, and staff coordination.

• Assist in developing, managing, and operating capital budgets
• Develop and implement plans and schedules to meet company and department goals
• Create processes, procedures, and standards for operational performance
• Review contract and RFP requirements
• Foster a professional, supportive work environment
• Evaluate subordinates' work performance
• Oversee completion of scheduled preventive maintenance via CMMS
• Support environmental compliance initiatives
• Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal codes
• Coordinate shift schedules, including holiday, vacation, sick, and emergency coverage
• Lead weekly staff meetings covering operations, projects, and safety
• Approve and submit weekly timesheets, work orders, and required documentation
• Accurately record work performed on tickets and work orders
• Prepare cost analysis reports for contracted work as needed
• Update and implement HAZCOM and environmental programs
• Maintain filing systems
• Conduct monthly tool and equipment inventories
• Keep skills and knowledge aligned with industry standards
• Perform annual and semi‑annual performance reviews

Requirements

• Hold a CFC Universal license (410A)
• 3–5 years experience as a Building Engineer or Chief Engineer in a hotel setting
• Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
