The Fuel Systems Project Success Manager is responsible for leading projects that support the Fuel Systems multi-generational product, manufacturing, and sourcing strategies. This role drives continuous improvement, core manufacturing investments, and leverages both Caterpillar and supply-base partners for non-core processes and supply assurance. Successful execution relies on strong collaboration, critical and analytical thinking, and deep expertise in manufacturing and assembly processes.
The manager will oversee the execution of the manufacturing and sourcing strategy, define project scope, and ensure alignment with broader business initiatives. They will develop strategic partnerships across direct and indirect supply bases and coordinate support activities with product engineering, operations, suppliers, and enterprise partners. Leading liaison activities with cross-enterprise teams is also a key responsibility.
The role requires extensive knowledge of budgeting, conflict management, decision-making, influencing, and alignment across teams. Candidates must excel in cross-team integration, goal setting, and systematic planning and organizing to achieve business results.
A Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required. Preferred candidates have demonstrated leadership in manufacturing or product development, strong internal and external partnership building, and experience applying Lean principles such as material flow, waste elimination, and labor utilization. Working knowledge of heat treat, precision machining, grinding, assembly, and test processes is also valued.
The position is based in Pontiac, IL, requires on-site work five days a week, and involves less than 15% travel. Domestic relocation assistance is available, but visa sponsorship is not offered.
